THE FREUDIAN INCONSTIENT IN THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD This article proposes a debate on the following question: is the unconscious a structural dimension of the human being or a characteristic of the modern man, who has become a “subject”? Starting from Freud’s text “The Question of Lay Analysis”, the author intends to discuss the contribution of Freud’s first discipols and disidents (Jung and Adler) to the theoretical and technical modifications of the text in question. The author then presents the studies that place psychoanalysis within a history of ideas, due to the mentality changes triggered and to various theories regarding the process of subjectivization as well as the discourse about sexuality. The end of the article makes reference to ethnopsychiatry, a new discipline, whose approach consists in certifying different theories, psychoanalysis included. (Devereux and Nathan).
