THE ANALYST'S TRANSFERENCE ON THE PSYCHOANALYTIC THEORY AND INSTITUTION Starting from the observation and description of some specific aspects of the so called "training analysis" some possible difficulties are underlined that candidates and future analysts may have to face in their relationships with the psychoanalytic institution and theory. The working through of the processes of separation and mourning of their own analysts may prove to be particularly difficult for them. Transference attitudes, particularly resistant to analysis, may be developed and displaced from their analysts into apparently more neutral areas, like the psychoanalytic institution and theory, capable of maintaining, with the former ones, a contact which is not only phantasmatic but also real.

Starting from the observation and description of some specific aspects of the so called "training analysis" some possible difficulties are underlined that candidates and future analysts may have to face in their relationships with the psychoanalytic institution and theory.
