Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology is a scientific, open access (www.roami.ro) peer- reviewed journal, published quarterly by CANTACUZINO National Medico-Military Institute for Research and Development.

The journal was founded in 1928 by Professor Ion Cantacuzino, under the initial name Archives roumaine de pathologie expérimentale et de microbiologie with all the articles written in French. Starting from 1991, English became the publication language of the journal, under the new title Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology (NLM Catalog).

Except for short periods of temporary interruption during World War Two (1939-1941) and post-war (1949-1956), Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology has been published regularly over the years, proving continuity in the field of microbiology and immunology.

Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology publishes full-length reports of original research, reviews, case reports, short communications that present the results of original basic and applied research in the fields of microbiology, virology, parasitology, epidemiology, immunology as well as editorials and letters-to-the editor.

Starting volume 77 issue 1/2018, besides PDF versions of the whole issue, PDF versions of full-text individual articles published in Romanian Archives of Microbiology and Immunology are available, according to international editorial recommendations.
