Guidelines for authors

Contributors should write in ways that reflect that they are addressing an international audience.

We will ask the contributors to make the process easy by conforming to the requirements listed here.

Manuscripts should be submitted in electronic format to the editors at revistais@socio.uvt.ro

As a guide, the manuscripts should be in MS WORD format, ideally be no more than 20 pages, in 1.5 spacing and 12 point font size. Please make sure that the article contains a title of the contribution, full name(s), affiliation and email address(es) of the author(s), a short note of biographical details. The article should begin with an abstract of 400-500 words written in English. The author(s) should include a set of keywords for the article (for Romanian contributors JSI requires a title, an abstract and keywords in Romanian too).

Good electronic copies of all figures and tables should also be provided. Prior to submission, all author/s must ensure that the manuscript is complete, grammatically correct and without spelling or typographical errors.

The reviewing process

After reception of article, it will be screened by the editor/s. If found suitable for the journal, the article will be sent at least two referees for further reviewing, who have to fill up a review standard form. The reviewers are not aware of the authors' names, as well as the authors don't have the information regarding reviewers' names (double blind review system).

Three outputs: rejection, accepted, accepted if revised, are possible. If accepted on the condition of revision, the editors will decide if a new process of reviews is necessary.

The evaluation of each paper follows these criteria:

  • Importance of Topic
  • Relevance for the Journal
  • Writing & Organization
  • Literature Review
  • Conceptual Development
  • Research Design
  • Methodology
  • Finding (s) & Conclusion (s)
  • Implications for Theory and Practice
  • Ideas for Future Research

Their suggestions are sent to the author, for further changes in electronic form. The author/s will have to respond within three days to answer queries.

Submission of papers

The manuscripts proposed for publication or the volumes for review shall be sent at the editorial office by email (attachments) or by mail at the address mentioned inContact and shall be drawn up accordingly JSI publication rules.

Authors remain responsible for the content of what they submit to be published.  The editors reserve the right to refuse contributions if the content includes sexist content, offensive language or any type of discrimination.

  • As a guide, articles should be no more then 20 pages in length.
  • Give us a single line title not longer than 15 words.
  • A brief autobiographical note should be supplied including: full name, affiliation, e-mail address, full international contact details and a brief professional biography.
    • NB This information should be provided on a separate sheet and authors should not be identified anywhere else in the article.
  • Authors must supply a structured abstract: Purpose, Design/methodology/approach, Findings, Research limitations/implications (if applicable), Practical implications (if applicable), Originality/value (mandatory).

Maximum is 500 words in total. In addition provide up to six keywords which encapsulate the principal topics of the paper and categorize your paper under one of these classifications: Research paper, Viewpoint, Technical paper, Conceptual paper, Case study, Literature review, General review.

  • All Figures (charts, diagrams and line drawings) and Plates (photographic images) should be submitted in both electronic form and as hard copy originals. They should be of clear quality,  and numbered consecutively with arabic numerals. There are no restrictions regarding the number of figures.

  • Tables should be typed and included as part of the manuscript. They should not be submitted as graphic elements. Supply succinct and clear captions for all tables, figures and plates. Ensure that any superscripts or asterisks are shown next to the relevant items and have corresponding explanations displayed as footnotes to the table, figure or plate.
  • References to other publications must be in APA style and carefully checked for completeness, accuracy and consistency. This is very important in an electronic environment because it enables your readers to exploit the Reference Linking facility on the database and link back to the works you have cited through CrossRef.

List acknowledgements at the end of your contribution. You can enrich the acknowledgements [between brackets] with an e-mail address and/or an URL address referring to the organisation/institute to which you wish to thank.

  • We invite you to enrich your contributions with information other than textual: pictures, audio files, video files, presentations, etc.
