This paper presents a methodology to analyze and to simulate the design iteration in the design process.
The first research method used in this work relies on observation of the design process.
The second research method is based on the DSM (Design Structure Matrix) representation of the tasks of the design process. In our work, a model based on Markov chain was used to simulate a group of design tasks.For this purpose a laboratory experiment was used. The results could be used to make recommendations for the designers to improve the performances of the design process.
